Real Madrid feast over a hapless Real Zaragoza in league season opener – La Liga Special (Part 2)
After taking a two goal lead before the half hour mark, Real Madrid eased themselves into the driving seat for the later part of the game. Los Manos tried to take the game to their visitors but were unable to find a way past Los Vikingos defence. The second
half piled more misery on Zaragoza as they let slip four more goals into their net.
The second half started with Real Madrid maintaining possession with Zaragoza players closing them down. Madrid tried to get the better of their opposition but Angel di Maria failed to convert from a Roberto fumble on Ronaldo’s shot. Ronaldo and company
took the Zaragoza goal under siege and took their turns on goal.
the pressure finally paid off in the 64th minute as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045 latched on to a loose clearance on the edge of Zaragoza’s box and sweetly struck the ball home; Roberto was left helpless as the ball sped into his net.
Alonso’s goal after the hour mark opened the floodgates as Real attacked with flair and numbers. Had http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 not been toothless in front of goal, the margin of victory would have surely been greater than what was recorded.
Cristiano http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 was next on the score sheet. The Portuguese winger scored his second of the night as he got on the end of a Di Maria ball and tapped into an empty net. It was a justified reward for the player as he had received the stick from the defenders
and his long range efforts had been denied by goalkeeper.
As the play continued on, Jose Mourinho took off Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil and brought in Gonzalo Higuain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Kaka. The Brazilian was fit and gunning to start but was overlooked for the ever improving German.
The substitutions worked for the visitors as they created chances after setting foot on the pitch. Ten minutes from time, Higuain to steamrolled forward past Ponzio and chipped the ball over Roberto. He could have passed the ball to an enthusiastic Ronaldo
who was waiting in the middle for a tap in for his hat trick.
Two minutes later, Madrid recorded their fifth as Kaka scored his first goal of the season. The Brazilian playmaker scored a brilliant goal as he ran into the penalty area, dropped his shoulders to get himself time to hit a venomous shot into the top corner.
As the game reached its final minutes, Zaragoza players looked fatigued and dejected following the humiliation they were receiving. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 pounced on the opportunity and completed his hat-trick as he was afforded space from the defence. Compatriot
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Coentrao started the move as he picked out Kaka on the right flank. The Brazilian playmaker then fired a shot across the box and found a wanting Ronaldo to tap in easily for his third goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up his terrific form from the end of last season as evident from his hat-trick. This is his ninth hat-trick in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, and his fourteenth goal in his last five La Liga outings. If he continues to perform like this, Madrid will
genuinely be contending for the title rather than fancy being runners-up.
