Real Madrid goalkeeper says Jose Mourinho is committed to club
Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas has said that he believes manager Jose Mourinho is completely dedicated to the club as they try to bring trophies to the Spanish capital.
Mourinho took over as the head coach of the La Liga giants during the summer and, after several changes to the playing staff, has led Madrid to an unbeaten start to the season that has seen them rise to
the top of the Primera Division standings.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper
AS, club captain and FIFA 2010 World Cup winner Casillas said that the manager was committed to the cause as Madrid attempt to end a run of two years without winning a trophy.
'Youngsters delighted to work with manager'
He said that: “Anyone who does not know him will have the wrong opinion of him, but he is a committed person who is completely devoted to Real Madrid, and the young people here are delighted to work with
him.
“He is very affectionate with the players, and tries to take care of everyone. Nobody can complain about him. Now I understand why people defend him wherever he goes. Little by little this team are fitting
the pieces together.”
Casillas also spoke of his admiration for former FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo and revealed that the will to win that the Portuguese superstar has is infectious.
He said that: “Cristiano is gifted in football terms. He has a way of playing, what we need is ambition and desire to win, and have it infect the rest of the team. He is an impressive force, and one of
his qualities is his physique, and also his power. He is fast, strong, and wants to do everything right. He has ambition.”
