Jose Mourinho expressed that his team finally has room for error in the Spanish Primera and believes that they have great advantage in the title race.
The Portuguese tactician stated that Real Madrid have been brilliant throughout the season and now have a significant advantage over their traditional rivals, Barcelona.
Mourinho believes that this 10-point advantage over Barcelona gives them a little breathing space in the title race, something they needed during the season.
Mourinho’s men hosted Levante this Sunday and were able to secure a 4-2 victory. The win was crucial for Los Blancos, as it provided them with an opportunity to go 10 points clear at the top of the league standings, since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 lost at the hands of Osasuna
over the weekend.
To Mourinho’s joy, his team was successful in capitalizing on the loss Barcelona suffered a day earlier. The Spanish Giants performed emphatically against the visitors and made sure that no mistake was made in grabbing the all-important three points from
the home fixture
Although many believe La Liga’s title race to be over, there may still be some drama left as the season progresses. At the moment, a 10-point cushion is still a significant lead and Mourinho seems to be satisfied that his side is progressing in the right
direction.
While addressing the press, the mentor quoted:
"There are a lot of points and a lot of games left. Every game is difficult to win and it will get increasingly hard because from now there is so much at stake for everyone. Those who don't want to be relegated and those who want to get into Europe will
give it everything. We need 39 points, which translates into 13 victories, and that is still a lot.
Ten points are 10 points and that gives you some margin for error. If you lose a game it's not decisive. (But) every game is difficult. It was here, as it was in Getafe and against Zaragoza as well,” he added.
The season still has 16 more games left to play and with the Champions League fixtures coming up, it will be interesting to see how the season develops.
