Reports in the Spanish media indicate that Real Madrid are taking keen interest in signing Ajax Amsterdam right-back, Gregory van der Wiel, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who has been plying his trade at Amsterdam Arena since the 2007/08 season, has been performing consistently for the past couple of years.

Los Blancos are now the latest team to express thier interest in acquiring the Dutchman’s services before the start of the 2012/13 season.
Real Madrid head coach, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly tracking the 24-year-old in order to provide cover for his first-choice right-back, Alvaro Arbeloa.

Van der Wiel, who has also represented the Oranje in 25 matches, is an extremely talented defender and despite his young age, the 24-year-old has plenty of experience at European level.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid will have to pay in the region of 10 million Euros to lure the right-back, whose current contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2013.
