Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been linked with a move out of the Emirates for nearly three seasons now. Over the course of those three seasons, it seemed like the only team that was seriously interested in the player, was Barcelona. However, it now seems
like Barcelona’s arch rivals, Real Madrid are looking to try their luck, by launching a move for the talented midfielder.
Fabregas started his career as a footballer, at the Camp Nou, where he played as a youth player before he was signed by the Gunners. As a result, the Catalan club was the favoured destination for the player.
The only stumbling block that seems to constantly be getting in the way of the move going through, is the fact that the two clubs just can’t seem to agree on a fee for the player.
Arsenal have gone on to value their captain at nearly fifty million pounds, which is a price that Barcelona just aren’t prepared to pay for the player. In fact, the team is looking to pay around thirty five million at the most for the midfielder. According
to Barcelona’s representatives, the player is not as fit as he once was and his constant injury concerns, leave them no choice, but to evaluate the player at a fee much lower than what Arsenal are expecting for the player.
However, Madrid seem to be playing the quiet card. According to source, the Spanish club are now looking to offer a massive forty five million pounds for the midfielder, which is a fee, that is much closer to the evaluation that Arsenal have of the player.
That being said, it seems highly unlikely for Fabregas to join Madrid. The player developed as a player, playing for Barcelona and as a result, its embedded in his genetics to find Madrid to be his arch nemesis.
Nonetheless, Jose Mourinho might be able to work up a deal with the player and the club, should he get his head down to it.
According to most experts, this potential offer for Madrid might have a lot more substance to it, than most people believe it to have. Arsenal have stated that they are ready to listen to offers for the midfielder and as a club, they wouldn’t mind what team
lands the player, as long as they aren’t any direct competitors, to the team.
It is now going to be interesting to see how this Fabregas-Arsenal-Barcelona-Madrid, saga wraps up, as it seems to be getting all the more interesting by the minute.
