Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho eyeing his third Champions League title – La Liga News
Jose Mourinho is one of the very few managers in the history of football to achieve the ultimate glory in Europe: winning the Champions League – that too with two different clubs. Mourinho is only the third manager to have achieved that feat.
Mourinho won the Champions League for the first time with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in 2004 and then with Italian side Inter Milan in 2010.
And now the Portuguese mentor has set his eyes on winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, which, if he succeeds, will be his third club. An unprecedented record it would be in football.
Talking on the matter while talking to Turkish newspaper, Hurriyet, Mourinho stated:
"I'd like to win my third Champions League title with my third team. It would allow my name to have a special place in football history. I'll make it. My players look at me and see a football icon. They see me as they are. It isn't easy to handle a
dressing room like that if you yourself aren't a football icon. Our status on the team is the same.
"No rule says you're good in every aspect of life. I was a good player when I was 14 or 15 years old, but I had two choices once I went to university.”
Speaking further in all-so-familiar deep manner, Mourinho added:
“I could be an average footballer or an extraordinary coach. I chose the second option."
The tactician has shown great belief in his ability to take Real Madrid to their 10th Champions League triumph. He has delivered on his promise with his old clubs, having coached Chelsea to their first English Premier League
in 50 years.
It was at Chelsea that he became known as “The Special One.”
After an eruption of issues with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner Roman Abramovich, he left Chelsea in 2008. He was then signed by Inter Milan, where the Special One was able to clinch two Serie A titles and a Champions League.
Now at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho has one of the strongest squads in Europe to manage. Moreover, he has a diverse range of stars available to him. Surely, the Special One can make history and cement his name as one of the best managers of all time.
