Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho happy to play Primera Division fixtures at noon – La Liga News
Real Madrid will play their first early fixture of the season against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu on November 6. Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, is happy with the fixture and stated that fans are judges of such decisions not him.
According to Mourinho, the fans should be included in the decisions as they are the ones who will be coming to watch them play. It does not matter to him that either they are playing at noon or 10 at the night.
"The question should be asked to the fans. If the fans like us to play at twelve, add me aswell.”
The erratic manager then went on to compare his schedule of going out and watching a movie. Stating that if the people are happy with it, he has no objection with it.
“When I go to the movies, I choose the schedule. The people should choose the schedules of the fixtures,” he commented.
With Real last playing fixtures during the daylight in the seventies and nineties, Mourinho does have the experience of playing at these times.
He said that he has good memories of playing earlier in the day and would chose 12 pm rather than two hours earlier at 10 am.
“However, my experience in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 has been positive. You can play and have rest of the day to enjoy with the family. Moreover, it is warmer in winter ... You can create a nice environment. If I get to choose between 12 and 10, I prefer 12. But here it would
be important in the polls. "
There have been a lot of calls of abandoning play at these times and continuing with late fixtures. However, LFP has taken a strict stance on the topic and stated that they will continue in this fashion with the league’s best interest in mind.
La Liga has its most viewers from Americas and Asia, and playing earlier in the day allows audiences in East Asia live coverage. With the authorities looking to tap into this market, earlier fixtures are set to become a norm in the future.
LFP president, Jose Luis Astiazaran, wants the public to be understanding of the situation Spanish football finds itself in. He acknowledged that fans will suffer because of these measures, but such steps are necessary in La Liga’s evolution.
