Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales Madrazo being approached by Premier League clubs
Spain Under-21 and Real Madrid player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Canales-c33052 Madrazo could be on his way to the English Premier League come the end of the current 2010-11 campaign.
The talented midfielder has struggled to break into Real’s first team in the season as the likes of Angel di Maria, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sami-Khedira-c32325 and Mesut Ozil are currently the first pick for Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.
Canales arrived at the Spanish football scene while playing for Racing Santander. In the 2009-10 season, Canales was exceptional for Santander as he helped them to maintain their top-flight La Liga status, scoring 6 goals in 26 appearances.
A magnificent season for Racing Santander sparked interest from Real Madrid and the player arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in the summer of 2010 for a transfer fee of approximately 4.5 million Euros.
Since his arrival to Real, the player has been mostly warming the substitute bench and some injury problems have not helped his cause of regular first team action. Lack of appearances for the Los Blancos has been frustrating for the Spaniard but he maintains
that this season has not been a total waste as he is learning from the finest players in the world.
Earlier in the January 2011 transfer window Canales rejected a move to Premier League club Bolton Wanderers but with top EPL sides notably Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool interested in him, a move away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 is looking probable.
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is being linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and manager Arsene Wenger can consider Canales as his replacement if Fabregas indeed does move to Nou Camp.
Current Premier League champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 need to inject some fresh blood in their ranks as the Blues are thought to have an aging squad. However, it will be difficult for Canales to get regular first team football right away at Stamford Bridge which he really
wants.
