According to latest reports from Mirror Football, Real Madrid have shrugged off competition from Barcelona and are favourites for the signatures of the Tottenham ace.
The Welshman has been consistently hitting the headlines, since he burst on to the picture, after his stunning string of performances in the UEFA Champions league in the competition’s 2010-2011 edition.
The Tottenham star spearheaded his side’s surprise run in the competition, as they were only eliminated by Spanish giants Real Madrid in the quarter-final stage.
And the Spanish sides came calling for the fiery Welshman as Barcelona and Real Madrid both placed him top of their transfer agenda.
As the recent news suggest, Bale might be edging closer to a move to the Spanish capital amid interest from the Catalans as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 are believed to be withdrawing from the bidding war as they cannot afford to compete Los Blancos.
Other sources also suggest that as of now, the only piece of transfer activity in the Catalan’s camp is the prospective signing of Brazilian wonder kid Neymar.
Spending a huge chunk of money in luring Bale to Nou camp, as it will be required, might dither their hopes of signing the much more sought after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639.
For Spurs, they face an uphill struggle in keeping the winger content at White Hart Lane and the factor of replacing Harry Redknapp with Andres Villas Boas has also come into play.
Where the likes of Real Madrid guarantees Champions League football year in, year out, Bale might no longer be interested in playing for a struggling Spurs side and will relish the opportunity of proving his master class in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
The summer departure of Tottenham’s fan favourite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 to Real Madrid may as well pave the way for the move and it is believed that Real Madrid are using the Croatian to make up the Welshman’s mind.
If the deal goes through, as expected, Tottenham may well find themselves in a lot of problems as there will be huge boots to fill, in order to vanquish the void left by Bale’s departure.
Bale signed for Tottenham from Southampton in 2007, and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the London outfit. It is believed that a fee in the region of 40 million pounds will be tempting and might see the North London club part ways with their
most valuable asset.
