Real Madrid prepare shock move for Liverpool’s Glen Johnson
One of the only decent players left at Liverpool, Glen Johnson, might be on his way out of Anfield sooner rather than later. The player might already be looking to pave a move away to sunny Spain to play for the likes of Real Madrid.
The English side back has recently started to show a rather keen interest in studying Spanish and when asked why he was doing so, he claimed he needed to know the language in order to communicate with Spaniards.
Liverpool bought the player for a whopping eighteen million pounds and will be more than happy to recuperate that amount, considering that they are currently going through a financial meltdown.
Johnson is reported to have said, “The Spaniards at Liverpool teach me a few words.”
“They’re not shy about correcting me, so it’s good that I can go away and practise and get feedback on my pronunciation.”
“In any walk of life it can be advantageous to learn languages. You never know what the future holds.”
“The typical English person doesn’t learn the language when they go to Spain or to speak to Spanish friends, expecting people to speak English to them. I don’t want to do that. I think it can surprise people if you start speaking
their language and they are not expecting it. It’s like a secret weapon.”
Despite Jose Mourinho, who is the manager of Real Madrid, claiming that he wishes to pursue the capture of a striker in the summer transfer window, he probably wouldn't mind capturing Johnson if he is made available. The side back
might be giving some of his worst performances ever at the moment, but there is hardly anyone at Liverpool who isn't doing just that.
The side back is quick, tends to attack more than he defends, can operate down the flank with great effectiveness and even tends to whip in a lethal shot every now and then. However his greatest asset is his ability to make tremendous
overlapping runs and then bend in a deadly cross which creates numerous opportunities for his team mates to score off of.
He is just the kind of player that Real Madrid would want to have lining up in their defence. Nonetheless, Mourinho will have to carefully consider if he wishes to spend another whopping eighteen million pounds to sign a right
back, considering he already has Sergio Ramos at the club.
