Real Madrid should focus on overcoming Barcelona rather than hating them, suggests http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Valdano
According to reports, the former Real Madrid general manager, Jorge Valdano, has emphasized that Los Blanco should be more focused on defeating Barcelona instead of hating on them.
Valdano was relieved of his duties as the general manager earlier this year, due to his rift with manager Jose Mourinho.
Reports suggest that Valdano still considers himself a club loyalist and he still has only good things to say about the Spanish giants.
The former general manager has insisted that Los Blancos have to put all the hate behind them and concentrate on better football. This has to be done in order to overcome Barcelona, which is something more important than maintaining a rivalry.
While talking to AS, he said:
"Football is very passionate and I am more reflective since [leaving] Madrid. I would like to see Real return to glory days; I am in permanent debt to the club,"
"It's amazing what you intend to do at Madrid, with the tremendous challenge of [beating] Barcelona. Now, being from Madrid has not enabled me to hate Barcelona.”
"Madrid should not give up, but their energy must be put into beating Barcelona, not hating them."
The rivalry between the two Spanish giants is arguably one of the biggest and oldest rivalries in football. Fascinatingly the rivalry between the two great clubs is widely considered to be more than just football. The enmity between the two clubs was once
even political.
The uneasy political conditions in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 being a Catalan club consider Catalonia separate from the rest of Spain. With their own language, anthem and flag,
they proudly express their feelings of separatism.
The rift between the clubs is also aggravated by the competition that they offer each other. These two clubs have emerged as juggernauts of the Spanish game; the amount of trophies shared by these two clubs compromise a percentage of approximately 55% of
all trophies ever contested in the country.
They have been in close competition and opposition for almost 5 decades now.
The enmity was taken to the next level last season when famous musician Shakira’s songs were banned from being played in the Santiago Bernabeu. The reason was the fact that the popular artist had admitted to a relationship with Barcelona defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664
Pique.
