Real Madrid striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 threat: UEFA Champions League news
Real Madrid striker, Emmanuel Adebayor has warned his team to be vary of Peter Crouch, as he can cause a lot of problems to them when the two sides meet in the first of the two-legged UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Adebayor admires Crouch a great deal and he feels that he is the main threat who can cause problems for the Madrid defence.
Adebayor said while speaking to bwin.com, “When I was playing in England I always loved a lot of Tottenham players, especially Peter Crouch. I do not know why but I love this guy. He is not that quick but he is very tall. He just has this ability of dribbling,
doing everything in slow motion, he is very good, and in the air, you know him, there is no way to win the battle against him.”
“He will cause lots of trouble to us, we need to manage to win the header because as soon as he starts winning the header in our area it will be very difficult for us,” added the striker.
Spurs, who have qualified for the first UEFA Champions League campaign in their history, are having a wonderful run in the ongoing 2010-11 competition. The North Londoners topped their group ahead of Inter Milan, Werder Bremen and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233. They went onto
beat A.C Milan in the last-16 round and the road to the quarter-finals is not getting easy for them as they will face the nine-time UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid.
The Togolese forward praised Tottenham as a unit and believes that they are playing really well as a team and the spirit they showed to overcome A.C. Milan was commendable.
The on-loan striker from Manchester City added that this Tottenham side never gives up and keeps playing till the final whistle. The example of this can be seen in their group stage fixture against Italian Champions, Inter Milan. The Spurs were trailing
4-0 in the first half and they almost snatched an amazing draw, but finished 4-3 in the end.
Adebayor has an excellent scoring record against the Lilywhites when he used to play for Arsenal. However, scoring goals does not matter for him that much, as he just wants his team to triumph and win the competition.
