Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema believes he is back to his best – La Liga news
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema insists he has returned to his best after he scored a brace against Hercules CF in the 2-0 win in the Spanish La Liga fixture.
The striker led his side to secure all three points as Madrid reduced the gap to just five points from Barcelona. Benzema has been in superb form recently and has scored six goals in the last three matches he played.
The France international said that he has found his form back again and has returned to goal scoring ways. Benzema admitted that he has worked very hard under coach Jose Mourinho and the performances are showing that. He added that the manager has given
him a lot of confidence and that he hopes to continue scoring more goals.
“What's happened is that I've found myself again and that I've returned to my usual best. I put in a lot of hard work on the training pitch and that's paying off now,” said the striker in an interview.
Benzema said that he is going through the best phase in his career and wants to continue performing for the Madrid giants. The Frenchman added that he was mighty pleased by his current form and also described himself as a lucky player on the field.
“I'm going through a very good moment of my career and I want to get as much out of it as possible. Everything I touch turns into gold right now. That extra bit of luck has been a big factor in the many goals I've scored recently. I'm obviously very pleased

Real Madrid are currently second on the Spanish League table with 70 points after beating Hercules CF at home and are five points behind leaders Barcelona after the Catalans drew 1-1 at Sevilla.
