With Jose Mourinho’s charges defending their Primera Division title and the Castilla earning promotion to the Segunda Division, Real Madrid C team will be a fixture of Segunda Division B.
The 2012/13 Spanish domestic season will see three teams from Real Madrid compete in the three top divisions in the Iberian Peninsula. While, Real Madrid first team will defend their Spanish title, its younger siblings will look to retain their status in the lower divisions.
Castilla earned promotion to the Segunda Division, while Real Madrid C side bought their way to the Segunda Division B, profiting from the economic downturn afflicting clubs in the third division.
As many as five teams were relegated from the Segunda Division B after going into administration, resulting in the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) taking the matters in their own hands.
RFEF contacted clubs who failed in their promotion bids to the third tier domestic league. Real Madrid C team was one of the teams that received the proposal, with the club jumping on the chance of sending their third team in Segunda Division B.
Los Blancos will pay around 190,000 Euros to the governing body for giving Real Madrid C access to playing in the competition. The club believes that growth is vital for players to compete at higher levels and hence came to the conclusion of buying their place.

The exciting coach recently renewed his contract with the Capital club after guiding his charges to the brink of promotion through usual channels.
The Madrid team finished the regular season second in Group VII and reached the third and final round, but came up short against Binissalem.
The latest move by Los Merengues will bring an outright change in the planning of the season by the club. The quarry has been seen as a reserve squad for Castilla since several players of the C team are also registered for competition in Segunda Division. 
As a result, Los Blancos will now have to move in the market to strengthen their youthful squads for earning a mainstay in their respective divisions.
