Real Madrid to play Osasuna at 12 am on Sunday November 6 – La Liga News
President of the League of Football (LFP), Jose Luis Astiazaran, has announced that the match between Real Madrid and Osasuna for the twelfth round of La Liga will be held at 12.00 am.
The match will take place on Sunday November 6, at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is the first time that Real Madrid will play a fixture on such a time.
La Liga officials have changed the timings of scheduled fixtures to accommodate viewers in Asia. In Tokyo the clock will tick 19 00 hours, while in Beijing it would be 18 00 hours.
This announcement comes on the backdrop of several clubs lodging their complaints about the extreme timing and the special treatment being dished to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Spanish giants have not played under the hot sun thus far in the season, which has led to calls of discrimination against the rest of Spanish top tier clubs.
Jose Luis rebuffed such claims in his meeting with press officials with the announcement.
"It has been written that Real Madrid or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 will play in the morning never is a lie. In fact, I can announce that the Real Madrid-Osasuna will play at midnight and morning," Astiazaran said in 'Breakfast European Sports Press.'
Madrid have not played in the early hours of the day in the current season but turning back history pages, they have a pedigree in them. Los Blancos have played at least three times in daytime during the seventies and nineties.
They played against Ray Vallecano on October 30, 1977 at 11:45 hours. This was followed by another outing on September 16, 1979 at 11:30 hours and later on September 3, 1995 12:00 hours.
Home games against Rayo on Sunday were traditionally played earlier.
The President of the Professional Football League (LFP) also recognized that the new schedules that are governing the current La Liga season have made the fans suffer.
However, he called for better understanding of the economic times and these measures are being taken to search for new revenues across the borders.
Diving into the details of the matters, Astiazaran said:
"Currently there are nine operators that broadcast television in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. Some schedules involve sacrifices for the fans, but everyone should understand that being the best demands sacrifices."
