After an eventful first half in which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526’s goal for Real Madrid, the second half kicked off between Tottenham and Jose Mourinho’s team at a slightly pedestrian pace. However, Tottenham soon had their first
scare of the second half, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 thudded right into the Frenchman’s face. Nonetheless, after minor medical attention, the former Arsenal player resumed his defensive duties for the visiting team.
In the 49th minute, Ronaldo once again tried his luck on Tottenham’s goal, this time his effort missing the right hand post of Gomes’s goal by only a few inches. Shortly after, it was Angel Di Maria who threatened for Real Madrid as the Argentinean
winger skipped past Benoit Assou-Ekotto. However, the former Benfica player’s cross was expertly scooped clear by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Dawson-c25288 as Tottenham defended resolutely at the start of the second half.
In the 51st minute, Real Madrid surged forward once more through Marcelo as the Brazilian full back tried his luck on Tottenham’s goal from outside the visiting team’s penalty area. Nonetheless, Marcelo’s shot was blocked on-route to goal by his
team mate, Cristiano Ronaldo who tried to bring the ball under his control but was unsuccessful, despite his best efforts. In the 53rd minute, Tottenham almost got their equalizer as Gareth Bale’s corner was volley over Iker Casillas’ goal by Assou-Ekotto.
The Cameroonian wing back was agonizingly close with his shot as Casillas was left scampering on his goal line.
In the 57th minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 held up the ball for Tottenham as Bale tried to link up with the speedy Englishman. However, the linesman on the far side raised his flag to signal Defoe’s offside position as Tottenham’s attack broke down before
even entering the Real Madrid penalty area. Just like the first half, Madrid dominated the proceedings in the second half as well.
They were confident on the ball and pushed forward almost at will. This was evident when in the 58th minute; Emmanuel Adebayor doubled his team’s lead after planting his header in the top left hand corner of Tottenham’s net. The former Manchester
City striker capitalized on Marcelo’s cross down the left hand side of Real’s attack as the score line reached 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
