Real Madrid vs. Barcelona Preview - Cristiano Ronaldo: We will win El Clasico
Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has predicted that his side will emerge triumphant in its impending titanic clash against archrivals FC Barcelona. The Portuguese star believes that Madrid have matured as a team and currently
have the winning momentum that will catapult them to victory against the Catalans.
“We know that it won’t be easy because Barcelona are a fantastic team,” said Ronaldo. “They’ve got great players and they’ve got a good sure. But, I promise you that it’s going to be a very interesting match. This Madrid side has
changed compared to what it was last season. We haven’t lost a match in La Liga or in the Champions League. El Clasico will be very exciting and since we’re in a good form at the moment, I think we will win it. I think that the team has matured. I can say
that there’s no better time for us to play at the Camp Nou.”
Madrid remain unbeaten in all competitions since the arrival of coach Jose Mourinho from Inter Milan. The “Special One” has instilled the confidence and winning attitude that was previously missing in Los Blancos’ expensive line-up.
CR7 rates his compatriot coach as the best manager in the world, and believes that Madrid are moving in the right direction, as a club, under the Portuguese tactician.
Cristiano added, “He is the best coach in the world today. He always wants to win and I think that the titles he has achieved speak for themselves. In fact, Mourinho has won in every league in which he’s participated. So, all the
players want to work with him, because it’s a great experience.”
Mourinho will revive a rivalry of his own when he enters Camp Nou on Monday. During last season’s UEFA Champions League, Mourinho’s FC Internazionale knocked Spanish champions Barcelona out of the competition in the semi-finals.
Mourinho, however, will be focusing on the job at hand – especially on how to control Barcelona’s deadliest weapon, Lionel Messi. The Real Madrid coach is wise enough to know that man-marking the Argentinean magician will be of
little use, but he may try to stop Messi’s runs by choking playing space in front of him.
The eagerly anticipated fixture will not only be a treat to watch for neutrals but will also prove to be potential title-decider. Real Madrid lost both El Clasicos last season, and finished three points behind Barcelona.
