The legendary defender has voiced his opinion regarding the Liga BBVA title race and has stated that Los Blancos can win the league if they can beat Atletico.
Roberto Carlos was of the opinion that the Madrid derby will play a crucial role in Real Madrid’s ambitions to secure their first La Liga title in the last three years.
The former Blancos player was confident that Jose Mourinho’s men have what it takes to go all the way in the Spanish Primera, although he insisted that they need to maintain their composure in the coming fixtures.
At the moment, the gap between the top two in the Spanish Primera Division’s league standings is just one point, while Madrid have a game in hand. To make matters more interesting, the two Spanish giants are set to square off in the Clasico scheduled
to take place in two week’s time.
Many believe that the showdown in El Clasico will play the decisive role in determining this year’s Spanish champions. However, if Los Vikingos can maintain their lead over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, they can go into the derby unworried.
Pep Guardiola’s Barca faced Getafe at the Nou Camp on Tuesday. The Catalans were able to keep their momentum going as they emerged 4-0 victorious from the midweek fixture, which means Madrid will have to be on their toes as they face Atletico Madrid
on Wednesday.
If Los Blancos are able secure all three points from the game, they will be able to maintain their four-point lead over Barca and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Carlos-c31317 has paid a great deal of emphasis to the match in this regard.
While talking to AS, the Brazilian was quoted as saying:
"I do think that the league is decided if Real beat Atletico. Madrid enter the game knowing that Barca won their match, that Atletico will be highly motivated, and that the Clasico is coming up. Madrid have never had any problems with pressure though.
Both sides have a number of difficult games toward the end of the season."
Real Madrid have not lost to their city rivals in the past thirteen years; however, it will be interesting to note if they can manage to add another victory to this record as it appears to matter the most at the moment.
