The Spaniard has taken out time to hail Los Blancos’ performance in what he believes to be the best Spanish Primera season of all time.
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is of the opinion that the recently passed season in the Spanish La Liga was the best season for Real Madrid ever since the start of the competition.
The supremo stressed that the 2011-2012 campaign was the most competitive as several records were broken during its progress. He went on to express that he is very proud of the accomplishments of the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
Perez pointed out that Madrid managed to put the best display in the history of the Spanish Primera Division, emphasizing that it was extraordinary to watch the Whites break the record for scoring the highest number of goals and securing the most points
in a single season.
Los Vikingos were indeed phenomenal throughout the past season, as they were finally able to end Barcelona’s dominance over Spanish football.
The nine-time European champions put up a stern test for their traditional rivals and brought their hegemony over the Iberian Peninsula to its conclusion.
For the last three seasons, La Blaugrana completely asserted their superiority in not only the Spanish La Liga but also in Europe, winning two UEFA Champions League titles and three Spanish La Liga titles in the process.
However, Jose Mourinho’s second season at the Spanish capital saw a drastic change in things as his side secured their 32nd La Liga title along with breaking a number of records.
While talking to reporters, Florentino Perez was quoted as saying:
"Real Madrid won the best league in the history of the competition. It was the best Liga season in history because so many records were broken. It was the campaign where we racked up 100 points.”
"Our victory was the result of hard work and a lot of talented players. The coaching staff, fans, players and all the Madrid employees together made this incredible campaign possible."
After reclaiming the Spanish crown after a break of 3 years, Real Madrid are keen on winning their 10th European title in the next season.
