Real Madrid’s Jorge Valdano and Marcelo have heaped praise on winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734, for equalling the Pichichi record of 38 goals in a single Spanish season.
Ronaldo scored a brace in Madrid’s 3-1 win over Villarreal on Sunday and equalled Hugo Sanchez and Telmo Zarra’s record. Zarra set the record in the 1950/51 season while playing for Athletic Bilbao. Sanchez, on the other hand, achieved the feat in the 1989/90
season while playing for Los Blancos.
Ronaldo is almost certain to break the record in the last game of the campaign against the bottom placed Almeria on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884, 2011.
The club’s director-general, Valdano, is pleased with the Portuguese’s efforts and hailed his two fantastic strikes in the game. The 55-year-old believes that the former Manchester United man’s professionalism drives him to succeed at the Bernabeu.
Valdano said: "Cristiano scored two extraordinary goals to equal an historic record, a record that belongs to another era. He's achieved this thanks to his great professional nature."

The Brazilian added that playing away at Villarreal is always difficult and the team played really well to clinch a convincing win against the Yellow Submarine. Despite losing on La Liga title this season, Marcelo is delighted to end the season on a high.
Marcelo, who scored Madrid’s opening goal in the win, added that the commitment and dedication the players showed to down Villarreal was amazing and reckons that his team had a great season.
Madrid’s only silverware in the season came in the form of Copa del Rey final victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 last month. Los Blancos lost to the Catalans in the UEFA Champions League semi-final and finished runners-up in the league.
