Mesut Ozil has established himself as the heartthrob of Madridista at the end of the first season, continuing his excellent performances in his second season.
In a recent interview, the 23-year-old creative midfielder revealed that he is happy in the Spanish capital and would have had a different career trajectory had he moved to other clubs that offered him.
Ozil disclosed that then reigning European champions, Inter Milan, were hot on his heels but he chose Real Madrid. He added that he aspires to end his career with the decorated Spanish side.
"It is true that in 2010 I had offers from some top European clubs. This included http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. But the decision to go to Real was absolutely right. It's the best club in the world, and I would like to end my career here," Ozil told Sport-Bild.
The exciting attacking midfielder cautioned Madrid’s rivals that they have yet to see him at his best as he claimed that he has yet to reach top form.
Ozil stated that he can become better than what Madridista across the globe have got accustomed to. He added that he is focused with Real Madrid at the moment and will give his best for German national team in the summer, to finish a historical season.
"I am only 23 years old, I will not reach my peak for a long time. I'll become even better. I am concentrating fully on Madrid and the national team, because we can make history this year.”
"We [Real] can win La Liga and the Champions League, and in the summer the European Championship with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904."
Ozil was influential in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg victory against APOEL Nicosia. Los Blancos thumped their un-fancied opponents by a margin of three goals, conceding none in reply.
The Die Mannschaft regular provided the final ball for Karim Benzema’s second of the night, and the last of Madrid’s three in the final minute of regular time.
