Real Madrid’s fame fades with the exit of Raul Gonzalez
Raul Gonzalez Blanco also known as Raul is considered as one of the world’s best footballers ever. This Spanish footballer has created marvels for his national team and has the tendency to do more. The 37 year old Spaniard is the all time leading goal scorer for Spain. Players of such a class and talent are adored globally. His capability and calibre cannot be questioned as his performance has been brilliant throughout his career. No football team or professional football club can deny the importance of such an asset in a team.
Recently the Spanish ace footballer left one of the richest and reputed Spanish football clubs; Real Madrid. Leaving the country’s best and wealthiest club is not an easy pill to swallow. The decision of retiring from Real Madrid was confirmed by the superstar footballer himself yesterday on the 25th of July 2010.
Now he is planning to join some English Football club or a German football Club of his choice. Despite of his retirement from Real Madrid, Raul still seems happy, confident and well aware of his current value. Raul has participated in 741 games for Real Madrid and has scored 323 goals. His scoring figures also make him the highest goal scorer for his club. Not only for his club but he has also shown his grand importance for his national football team as well by scoring 44 brilliant goals in 102 matches. His outstanding statistical figures are the proof that he has done a lot for his club and for his country as well. No one can deny the true living fact of his remarkable importance in a squad.
Raul joined the premium club at the age of 17 and twenty years of his strongly bonded relation with the loving football club shows the loyalty of this 37 year old legend for his club. Later, after the confirmation of his retirement from Real Madrid, Raul expressed his views in an emotional shedding and shattering speech. He said it was a very difficult decision to make as he still loves Real Madrid and he considers himself lucky to be a part of such a wonderful football club. He said he was emotionally attached to the club and leaving the club is a very painful experience for him. Later he shared his thoughts about his intentions to join German or English football clubs.
Some reports have claimed that Raul is going to join the Schalke Football club of Germany but the Spaniard is still hiding his true intentions and not giving a hint about his future plans. Raul told the media that his contract has not been finalized yet so it is not easy to confirm where he is approaching for. He admitted that his intention is completely towards England or Germany and it will take him sometime to make a final decision.
Later he expressed his deep love and respect for Spain’s best club Real Madrid and said that he will always support the club to the fullest. He has won 6 Spanish League titles for his club and facilitated his team to clutch 3 Champions League Trophies.
Raul Gonzalez admits the fact that football has always been his first love and Real Madrid has always been his first choice. His sudden decision of leaving his most favourite club left the Spanish and Real Madrid fans in a shock. This sudden step taken by Spain’s most loved footballer can also give birth to new controversies with his club. Some questions still need to be answered; was this sudden decision a result of endless love or rivalry? Only time can tell.
