Did he win championships or three-peat Did he win a slam dunk contest, All NBA Defensive teams, average 35-37 ppg, NBA MVP's, and hold any NBA records other than youngest player. Never had a major injury for more than 30 days and been able to comeback and dominate. score 40 points 9 times 50 points 4 times in a row score any where from 69-81, Hit 6-12 three pointers in game. and how about game winning shots in the playoffs

Believe me those were stats of MJ and Kobe Just Give me a reason after 5 season they put LBJ in the same conversation.

He's 23 years and D-Howard 22 Chris Paul and D-Williams are 23 Carmelo's 24 Lebrons better than them but but this list proves age doesn't mean a thing in a couple of years the NBA title is a toss up.

So Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are still in the conversation with LeBron because he has a lot of upside but does his accomplishments add up

  1. LeBron has the strength and size of a power foward, yet he has the handles and speed of a point guard.  With that combination, he is able to score in the paint, while also having good court vision and passing to his teammates for looks.  He is already a pretty mature player for his age, as most 23 year olds in the league are still newbies.  He has dominated games when it has mattered, like the 2007 playoffs and persevered again this year in the playoffs, especially in the first round against a physical Washington Wizards team.  Scoring isn't the only thing that makes a player great, but also rebounding and assists, which James is also very good at, since he has averaged between 6 and 7 rebounds and assists each per game since his 2nd year in the NBA along with his scoring!

The scary thing is that he is 23 and most guys don't hit their prime until their late 20's to early 30's.  It's not that Lebron will be averaging triple doubles every year that's scary, but rather the maturity he will gain by that time that does, as it will make him even more effective than he already is.

  3. I think the major reason that you havent mentioned is he has carried a franchise that is pretty void of real talent. MJ had Pippen and a great supporting cast, Kobe NEEDED Shaq when he was young and again all the others you mention have solid teams built around them. And he very nearly got them to the promised land once....again who on that team would you consider their Pippen or Shaq? And none of the guys you mention ever won anything important (I dont think winning a slam dunk contest holds much value....championships are what these guys should be judged on)either at that age, I get your point but what gets him mentioned in the same breath is simple...he is a mega-talent. I can remember people making this argument against a young MJ while the Pistons regularly kicked the Bulls behinds, they obviously were wrong. Dont be wrong, give him his proper time and due.

  4. he never, won a dunk off, he never wanted to be known as a dunker.

  5. I agree with a lot your saying, as u said too he is still very young and has been winning at a way younger age than Jordan did.  Lebron is on pace though to break almost every offensive record.  Even though Kobe is my favorite, Lebron is the 2nd best in the league and do u know how hard it is to average 30 points 7 rebs and 7 assists in a season!!! thats very difficult and he has been around those stats is whole short career so far and will most likely continue to do so.  And yes his jumper is OK at best but it is getting better every year.

  6. calm down..

  7. NOt sure about 23, but he has lived up to all the hype that everybody gave him before he came into the NBA.  If anybody remembers people were already saying next MJ before he even played his first nba game.  i was sick of the hype for somebody that never played a game.  But he blew me away his first 2 years in the NBA. he had stats comparable to Magic and MJ when they first came in the league and even some oscar robertson stuff.  But all that stuff get's old quick and if you can't lead your team to a ring than that's how you will be judged in the end.
