Real Sociedad vs. Atletico Madrid, full time report (Part 1)
The Spanish La Liga kicked off as Real Sociedad were ready to host the current Europa League Champions Atletico Madrid. Both the sides were ready to face each other as both the coaches sent out their best men in order to give their best.
For Atletico Madrid it was their best goalkeeper David De Gea, who was guarding the goal and Luis Armanto Perea, Tomas Ujfalusi, Diego Godin Leal and Antonio Lopez were the ones, who helped him at the back.
The Spanish coach Enrique Sanchez decided to play a traditional 4-4-2 against Real Sociedad as they were going away from home and Mario Suarez was the player, who played in the midfield along with Tiago. Simao featured on the wings as Antonio Reyes featured
as an attacking midfielder. Up front, Enrique decided to play his best strikers Diego Forlan and Sergio Kun Aguero.
On the other hand, the Real Sociedad coach Martin Lasarte decided to play 4-4-2 as well, however, his side relied too much on the flanks. Claudio Bravo Munoz was the one, who featured between the two poles as the shot stopper for his club and Mikel Gonzales,
Ion Ansotegui Gorostola, De La Bella and Carlos Martinez Diaz featured in the defense.
Miker Aranburu featured in the midfield along with Diego Rivas and Xabi Prieto featured on the wings alongside Zurutuza, who featured on the opposite flank. Antoine Griezmann was played up front along with Joseba Llorente.
The match was all action as both the teams took their positions on the field. The first half was totally one-way traffic as the home side took the advantage of the home ground and the home crowd and got an early lead in the 12th minute with the
help of their striker Joseba Llorente.
There was no way that the Madrid side could make a comeback in the first half as the home side totally dominated the game and throughout the second half the home team kept on defending the ball and tried to keep possession at all time to shut out Madrid’s
chances of an equaliser.
However, it was the Uruguayan captain and one of the best strikers in the World, Diego Forlan, who stepped up to change things round for his team during the 72nd minute as he scored a sensational goal to put his team back on level terms.
The game was not yet over as Kun Aguero had a point to prove as well and with only ten minutes remaining in the game, the Argentinean got the ball at his feet when Ujfalusi slid it towards him in the penalty box.
The “very quick” Argentinean striker was there to take his team in front as he tapped the ball in to score the second goal for his side. It was a total turn of events as no one was expecting Atletico Madrid to take the lead.
