The central midfielder spent the second half of 2011/12 Spanish top flight season on the books of Zaragoza and is close to sealing a permanent move to the Aragonese club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manolo-c23349 Jimenez managed the impossible as he guided Real Zaragoza to safety on the final day of 2011/12 La Liga season. Malaga midfielder, Apono, was sensational in the late surge by Los Manos, hitting the back of the net five times in his 17 matches at La
Romareda.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini preferring more flamboyant options in his squad for the coming season, Apono will make way to Aragon for his future. It has been reported in Spanish sporting circles that Malaga have negotiated the terms of sale with Zaragoza, and
the move only need ratification from the player.
Needing Apono’s signature looks to be more of a formality for Agapito Iglesias’ team, as the player recently declared his love for them. The 28-year-old shared that he wants to play at La Romareda in the future and will force his move to the club after telling
Malaga about his designs for the future.
"Real Zaragoza know that I hope to play there. What I have talked to them and as a matter of the clubs reach an agreement," he said.
The player did not want the negotiations to be prolonged as pre-season matures in earnest. Apono wants to return to first team training under Manolo Jimenez and revealed he does not want to waste any more time.
In theory, the move should be made official over the weekend. It has been reported in the rumour mill that Apono will be signing a contract for three seasons with Real Zaragoza.
To acquire the services of the Malaga born player, the Aragon-based club will have to pay their Andalusian counterparts around one million Euros: a much lower price than what the La Rosaleda based outfit asked for a month ago.
Apono needs to be credited for forcing the move after being told in no certain words by Manuel Pellegrini that he does not fit in his future plans with Malaga. The midfielder always have Zaragoza as his first choice, repaying the trust they put in him at
the tail end of the last campaign that rejuvenated his stalled career.
