The two giants are still opposing the idea of holding the Spanish Supercopa in China as both teams argue that they have a duty to their fans and sponsors and that is what is preventing them from playing in Asia.
The Spanish Federation (RFEF) held a meeting on Monday that was attended by the presidents of all the 20 clubs in order to discuss this issue.
However, the presidents of the two most powerful and successful teams in Spain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid, rejected the proposal and have cited that there are many issues preventing them to agree to this deal.
Some of the reasons cited by both Rosell and Perez include social, economic and sporting reasons.
However, the majority of the other teams in the Spanish League want to go ahead with the deal as it will help them financially.
Atletico Madrid President, Cerezo, is arguing that the benefits of playing in China from next season outweigh the costs and that this deal will help them financially since it is only Barca and Real who get the majority of the television rights and the revenues.
"They gave their case and we gave ours. We are interested in playing in China and Real Madrid and Barca are not. For us it is an economic question, and we would earn a lot more money playing there," he said.
He also said that the only problem in this deal is the difficulties that Spanish fans will face when travelling to China. Regardless, Cerezo thinks that the benefits far more exceed the costs.
"That is the only problem there could be, but for us it is very clear and very important to be able to play in China," he said.
"Doing things against the wishes of anyone is not good either," he said. "I would imagine they will need to be convinced." he concluded.
In the mean time, the two most powerful clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926 will not materialise and that is the reason why they need to be convinced.
