  1. Good Lord no.

  2. Real estate agents get paid a salary by the agency they work for, but they get the greater portion of their "pay" by earning a commission on the sales they make. No sale, no commission. You won't owe them a thing.

This should all be spelled out in the contract you signed.

  3. Nope. Yet it could also depend on WHY it didn't sell. For example, a home which belongs to the estate of someone who passed. Home is priced pretty well, had several good offers on it and the some or even one of the persons left with the estate keep insisting on full price offers to come in. Then there may be an issue.

Also, if you "find" someone to buy your home, so you pull it off the market and sell it. You may owe a commission to the broker.

But beyond any special circumstances, no payment is expected.

  4. Everything is spelled out in the contract. 0n some occasions I charge my clients a fee upfront to market and a subsequent commission at dosing.

    Every market has special needs.
