Real bad acid indigestion what causes it?

I,ve been suffering for a few days with real bad acid indigestion and a wicked smell in my breath when i burp, Sometimes Pepsid helps, sometimes not. What is this and what is the cure?

Could be acid reflux.  The muscle that keeps your stomach acid from backing up into your throat doesn't always work as well as it should.  You can try a few things to make it not as bad; don't eat too much fatty or spicy food (and avoid alcohol), and stay upright for at least a half hour after you eat.  If it happens a lot, you should go see a doctor about it because your throat isn't designed to withstand stomach acid, and being exposed to it regularly can be really bad for it.
