  1. I have never heard of this, but I doubt that it will work.  What is it supposed to do?  Just help with the swelling?  I would use an ice pack that's just been in the fridge before wasting money on good henna powder.  I mean, swollen feet in pregnancy is very common.  Just put your feet up and take it easy.  There isn't a whole lot you can do about it.

Especially if the henna you're using is not 100% henna.  If it's specificly for coloring your hair there can be other chemicals and stuff in it that might not be good.  If it's called "black henna" that is especially dangerous and can cause harmful allergic reactions.

I use 100% henna to color my hair, and I'm 34 weeks pregnant so as far as being safe for you and the baby, yes, it's safe.  I only leave it on for 2 hours though, not overnight.

  2. Henna is just a flowering plant, that when crushed can be used to produce a dye that will stain the skin for a few days to weeks

That's it.  It has no magical health properties. I'm not aware that it can be absorbed into the bloodstream and harm a fetus.

Swollen feet are common in pregnancy because the enlarging uterus compresses the femoral veins and the vena cava., so that blood returns from the lower extremities are impaired.  The best way of dealing with this is just elevating the legs, and lying a bit onto your left side.

Be careful of so called "black henna" though, because some people have had severe allergic reactions to it with painful rashes and blisters.
