Real picture on Y! Answers?

Well, I went to my 360 profile and went to go upload some pictures, but according to Y! it's down because of something having to do with flickr. Sooo now how do I get a picture on here? Please and Thanks.

It sounds like you tried to upload an image to the regular Yahoo! Members Profile (http://members.yahoo.com ) rather than Yahoo! 360 (http://360.yahoo.com ), but please make sure you've followed the instructions below:

Make sure a JPEG formatted photo (with .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe extension) under 5MB is saved to your hard drive.

- Click your "My Page" link at the top

- Click "Edit Profile Photos" over the empty picture frame

- Click "Browse" and upload photo into an empty field. Then click one "use as primary" radio button on the right before saving.

You can't upload more than 4 profile pictures (this includes an avatar). Make sure that you are following the 360 Personal Photo guidelines here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... .

Then, come back to Yahoo! Answers. Click the "My Profile" link to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Scroll down to the image section and check the option of showing the 360 picture. Click Preview and then the OK button. Then, wait.

NOTE: The image may not show up right away in Y/A, as it sometimes take days (or for some people weeks) for the system to catch up. So, in the meantime, you will be without any picture on Y/A (blank, grayed out, messed up...whatever you want to call it). Just go through the above process and let your picture stay that way until the system makes your 360 image appear. This happens very often.

This is the only way to get a "real picture" on Yahoo! Answers. So, if it doesn't work, then there's nothing you can do about it besides perhaps contact Y/A regarding the problem. Go to the Y/A forum (http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answe... ) to do that and/or see if others are having the same problem. Other than that, you can only wait OR elect to use your Yahoo! Avatar instead.

Your 360 photo is now showing as your id image. It must of healed itself.

TO CHANGE AVATAR TO PICTURE ON YOUR YA PROFILE

Upload the picture you want to use as your primary profile picture in Yahoo! 360:

1. My Page > Edit Personal Photos

2. Upload your picture (click on "Browse" and select the picture you want to use)

3. Check "Set as primary" next to your picture

4. Click "Save" to finish

To display your picture in Yahoo! Answers::

1. Click on "My Profile"

2. Click on "Edit My Info"

3. In the picture setting, select "Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture"

4. Click "Preview"

5. Click "OK"

Click on the Avatar Home.

Start with your appearance and look for your skin color, hairstyle, and hair color. You can click on different hair colors on the right side of the picture. If you want to change your facial expression you can do that with the smileys that are above the cartoon.

Go through the apparel, which allows you to pick full outfits, tops and bottoms, or even plus sizes.

In the extras you can pick jewelry, hats, bags, shoes. But this is the place where you can really personalize your look. If you want to look like cavewoman or a viking, you can actually find it here. This is the fun area to see what's new and how you want to represent yourself.

When you put together an avatar that you really like, save it in your favorites so you can refer back to it at anytime. Otherwise, you'll have to start over everytime.

To display your Avatar in Yahoo! Answers:

1. Click on "My Profile"

2. Click on "Edit My Info"

3. In the picture setting, select "Use my Yahoo! Avatar"

4. Click "Preview"

5. Click "OK"
