I am 18 years old and i just completed my a levels in bio (grade B), Chemistry (grade A) and Business studies (grade C)...I want to study pharmacy but it looks like its too late for this year? Or is there still a little time for me to apply do you think??? I want to avoid taking a gap year at all costs because i might lose the fact that i am used to studying hard continuously like i did at A level. I am so confused and i dont know what to do??? Please help me :(

  1. Classes officially begin in a few days if they haven't already at other institutions. It's too late to become an official student, yes. You may be able to apply for the spring however; not necessarily a full year gap. You also may be able to take several classes at your institution as a visitor that could apply to your major when you become a full time student. Contact an advising office at the university you want to attend and see what can be done.

Edit: Did the guy before me seriously just make the entire post about taking a year off when she said she didn't want to? Jeeze...

  2. You can only apply through Clearing for this year (www.ucas.ac.uk). It's strange that you didn't apply earlier in the year, although I suppose you have changed your mind since then. Clearing will have a list of all the places left, although they'll be going fast. Most people already know whether they have got in or not and will be starting in about a month (I assume the answerer above is talking about US universities...)

  3. You could try Clearing but pharmacy is quite a popular course so there may not be many places.

A gap year doesn't mean you can't study. You could get a part time job and do another A level part time to keep you studying. You would have an advantage applying for next year in that you already have your grades so you would get a firm rather than conditional offer.

  4. why hello my confused petal :)

ofc you can apply now, im applying right now haha!.. just make sure you know what you want to study and where!

Im 20 so it's never to late to study if you wish to take a gap year :)

apply for clearing at ucas.com :) and read what they say on it!

no?.. did the guy below me just provide the most useless and   incorrect information about someones future? and please learn to read you r****d. It's not too late, im doing it now and have plenty of time in order to become a student for 08.  'Jeez'.. www.ucas.com and apply for clearing. period.
