I am making a guess based upon my personal & business spends and loss of buying power, that the real rate is about 10%. What is your guess?

  1. The Best and Only Measure of Inflation is by looking at the "CORE" CPI Rate. And No, the real rate is no where near 10%.

  2. I believe John Williams' "Shadow Stats" data more than the manipulated goverment issued CPI numbers.

They give the Annual Consumer Inflation rate at almost 12%

Take a look at your monthy expenses & tell me you don't believe Shadow Stats over the official CPI numbers.

The gov is "cooking the books" just like Enron did years ago in an attempt to hide problems. We all know how Enron turned out....

    -edit-

Your actual purchasing power IS decreasing at a rather dramatic rate. I'm starting to feel like Ross Perot (lol) with all these charts, BUT...take a look at the US $ Index. Since most of us use US Dollars to make purchases, this chart DIRECTLY corresponds to your purchasing power...

    Scary, huh?
