Reale Seguros Insurance Company signs sponsorship agreement for Open de Espana
The year is turning to a better note for the European Tour as the renewed sponsorship agreement by The Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Reale Seguros Insurance Company for the Open de Espana will go a long way in strengthening the financial status of the tour.
European Tour has kicked off on a strong note with its season-opening events in South Africa followed by a string of blistering Middle Eastern tourneys.
The tour is all set for gigantic financial gains at the end of the year.
The Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Reale Seguros Insurance Company have vowed to provide financial backup to the event for next three years.
Moreover, the event will now be renamed as Reale Seguros Open de España scheduled to be played at RCG de Sevilla.
President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation Gonzaga Escauriaza and Luigi Lana, Chief Executive Officer at Reale Seguros were present at the ceremony and signed the agreement with the European Tour officials.
Lana said, “Our strong commitment to the game of golf goes far beyond sponsorship. Our company shares many values with the Open de España and with the world of golf in general. As a matter of fact, the pursuit of improvement, ever present in golf, happens to be one of the brand marks of our company. It is a great pleasure for us to be associated with a growing and dynamic sector, and we at Reale Seguros are particularly proud of our contribution to its growth”.
The agreement features a whooping support of 1.55 million euro to the event in the course of next three years.
European Tour suffered consecutive setbacks last year when the Irish Open was left lurking in shadows with its sponsor refusing to support the event in the proceeding years.
Barclays also withdrew from its long lasting sponsorship for the Scottish Open, causing serious problems for the European Tour.
Open de Espana is one of the many events played on the Spanish soil and marks the beginning of the European Tour events on the continental European turf.
Having one of the top-ranked tourism industry, golf in Spain has an altogether different meaning where many of the European riches fly down to relax and enjoy the luxurious Mediterranean courses in warm balmy summers.
