College officials are considering lowering the national drinking age from 21 to 18.

  1. No, this is why:  

    Right now the drinking age is 21.  The biggest argument against lowering the drinking age is at 18 they are not responsible enough.  So the 18, 19, and 20 year olds go out and drink anyways, proving the argument by drinking underage and breaking the law.  

    If the age is lowered to 18, your not doing anything but ignoring the problem.  The underage students need to show responsibility first, then the drinking age can be changed.
