  1. i do think we should something more like recycling etc and planting more trees and not cutting them down but i do think this will cool down and it wont be such a BIG worry

ps make art not war lol

  2. The UK Virgin Empire billionaire Sir Richard Branson recently came up with a 25 million dollar or pound reward for a scientist/team to come up with a means to trap Co2 like plants do

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6345...

;trees/trapping Co2 will be a major approach in anti-global warming efforts.

  3. people know that it's happening, but what they dont know is that it's worse than they think. this problem isnt just going to go away by itself, it's going to take a lot of work, especially sinse no one really cares. but if we could find more people who actually care, we mite actually be able to make a difference, and stop this before it wipes out millions of species of animals.

  4. No hope for human race...its the 11th hour, only God can save us.

  5. remember the dinosours then the world was covered in tropical forests earth is going back to its naturall sate if your truely an enviromentalist dont try to stop global warming

  6. When you say human race, you refer to the whole planet. But most of the deniers and obstructionist live in industrialized countries. Americans are 5% of the population but consume 24% of all the natural resources and contribute 25% of all pollution, just as an example.

I have been blessed with the good fortune to have traveled extensively around the world, Americans are unique in their lack of self awareness and conscienceness. Too many are so disconnected from the natural world that they don't even know phase the moon is in at any given time. I know that is not what most of you want to hear, but it is true.

But this can change, there is still hope. The changes needed will only be temporaroly drastic to those in the industrized nations. Not for the majority in the human race or the future generations that will follow.

It does not seem to me that pepople in the so called first world are happy with their life styles. Simpler is not that bad. I have seen people with almost nothing that are much happier than the average industrialized nation's wage slaves... materalistic competetion and consumerism will level the playing field all by it's self.

The current global economy is not sustainable. Again, I know most of you don't want to hear this , but it is true.

Look what's happening in the news.

  7. we have already the president has head in the sand as usual but the race as a whole is taking action

  8. I do not think that humans will totally understand what is going on. It is taking so long to convince them of what is happening today that by the time they will all understand today's problems there will be a whole heap of new problems that will need explaining and it will all start again.....?  I think that there is very little chance of repairing the damage we have caused because people wont even admit there is a problem, plus the rapidly expanding population that demands more and more of a finite resource. I think we will be lucky to slow down the damage and frankly would be happy if things just don't get worse...If they get better it will be a miracle...??!

Check this site out it is so cool, if you click on the now button it will all go to zero and it really makes you realise what effect 6.6 BILLION people are having on the planet,

And your comment about mister jello or whatever his name is, I think that you and I are not the only ones to have had that thought....!

  9. Realistically-It is all a big hyped up bunch of nonsense. A few years from now you will see people saying how do we stop Global Cooling, like we saw in the eighties.

  10. Unfortunately,Americans will not get the real news about AGW,because of the CENSORSHIP from the White House. On 60 Minutes last night, they had the scoop on how the Bush admin. has repeatedly CENSORED data concerning climate change caused by 200 years of using coal and oil. It may already be too late to really slow down the disaster!  The amount of deliberate spreading of false information,in a desperate attempt to keep the debate from moving forward, will increase as the situation gets worse. I even predict that soon we will hear that it's God's hand that is causing so much destruction and hardship. It seems that most of the deniers of AGW,are fundamentalist Christians. Science has always been a problem for the "True Believers"! Look at what happened to Galileo and Copernicus when they PROVED the Bible, and the Church wrong in it's explanation of the World, and the Universe! They were arrested for their dangerous 'knowledge'! We're seeing the same narrow minded and ignorant argument from them on this very serious problem.  As for a 'scam' to make money off of AGW,what about the 'scam' to jack up the prices at the pump, and at the same time receiving huge subsidies, paid for by raising our taxes! The oil companies have been 'scamming' us for decades! They use our atmosphere as a dump for their toxic waste! They've gotten away with MURDER for too long! Now we know that the oil is killing our eco-sytem. And all we hear from the govt. is censored gobbly guk! We only have this one tiny little wet rock, spinning through space, lets not s***w it up!

  11. What many people forget is that the Earth is in a constant state of flux.  What we perceive as a normal temperature for the Earth is only what little data we've gathered over a short span of time.  We're only 10,000 years out of the last ice age, with glaciers still existing in parts of the world.  The climate could continue to grow hotter, thus eliminating all the glaciers, and be a completely natural process, regardless of what humans do.  Indeed, the Earth had far hotter temperatures than what's currently being recorded, long before humans walked this planet.

Yet those that make such claims are usually subjected to ad hominem attacks by those that support the idea of man-made global warming.  It all boils down to control, and those that are behind the concept of man-made global warming are the ones who wish to be in control of all aspects of our lives.

  12. Naw - in 5 years the Earth will cool down on it's own and global warming will be a thing of the past, just like pet rocks and Y2K.

  13. it's a hoax.

If your oven is baking your food too fast, do you blame it on your cookies?

Or is there something different with the burners (sun) or the way the air circulates in the oven ( convection, radiation, conduction).  Or could it be the thermostat causing the problem (jet stream, gulf stream, normal macro weather cycles).

You are blaming it on the cookies, when they have by far the LEAST effect on what temperature your oven bakes at.

  14. Cancelled due the lack of interest or Attention Deficit Disorder

  15. After it's to late

  16. <<Dr. Jello- i have no idea how you came to be a top contributor>>

he spouts what duffuses like to hear.

    however, clearly it will.

    the question is when?

and how much harder, and more expensive, will it be to address after we've waited that long.

i'm always saddened/disgusted by the "hey, by the time i'm dead" responses.

    do they not have kids?

do they not care about them?

  17. unless someone finds a way to convince everyone who doesn't believe it's going on that it is going on, no, we'll never find a way of fixing it.

  18. yes

  19. There is no fixing. Sure, we contributed to speeding up the process, but global warming will continue regardless of what action we take.

However, we do need to stop and think about how much pollution we're putting into our air and water. These resources are what sustain us. I don't want my grand kids having to wear gas masks to school. I don't want them to have to stay out of the ocean because it is so polluted or not be able to eat the fish.

No one will truly understand all that there is to understand. Global warming will impact in many ways we won't be able to see.

Pollution will also impact us in many ways we won't be able to see, but we do see a lot of it's effects. More cancer, more asthma, more bacteria in the water - even the weather is impacted by our spew.

  20. realsitically , it already is, but the problem is the republicans just want to pollute and pollute and worry about it later, well its gettin pretty late in my book and we still do nothing, but it all starts with the individual, and the individuals are starting so who knows, we might be able to get ourselfes out of this one too.

  21. I think global warming is very important.  A 5 to 8 degree general rise in temperatures would make earth a much more habitable place.  Milder winters, longer growing seasons, more rainfall.  Humans have historically done better in warming times than in cooling.  Remember, we are a tropical animal.

  22. Not for many of our species.  There are too many people lacking the compassion to care (if it's not threatening them personally at the moment, why care?) and too many uninformed people (see above) who think they are smarter than the countless scientists who have been studying the issue for over 30 years.

Jello - the difference between Y2K and AGW is that Y2K was never a big concern of real informed computer scientists (such as myself) or the government and AGW is a concern of real Climatologists (all over the world) and governments (all over the world).  One boy crying wolf doesn't mean every boy for all time that says a wolf is coming, is lying.  There really are wolves.

  23. Sadly, probably not until it is too late.
