Realistically speaking, aren't we all dependant on each other ?

and to stay healthy we need lots of friends.

  1. I recall reading a study in the book "the tipping point" about social networking.  People were given a long list of last names. you were to check off every name for which you knew someone personally - even if casually.  Those people who had a high number of names had much healthier other measures - such as health - reported happiness - etc....

    so - I think that we are social beings - although some of us a wired to like more socialization than others - the more the merrier....


  2. we are dependant on each other, but not on everyone. some people won't affect us. but if someone went back in time, then every change would totally eliminate everyone. so yes, we depend on others, but we are more reliant on the past.

  3. to some extent, sure, we are all dependent on each other.  But the level of that dependency can vary greatly.  For instance, I am emotionally totally invested in my wife and children.  Less so on my best friends, and even less on the people I know from work.
