Question:

Really confused by iTunes at the moment...

I haven't used iTunes to play music in a while, but thought I would while my iPod was updating and charging. However, I went to play an album that I bought ages ago (over a year ago) but it will only play 1 of the songs and none of the other albums by that artist. Its doing it for loads of others too, but not all of the albums that I have bought.

Please can some-one explain what's going on?

Also, I cant actually authorize my pc to play the songs as I have just moved into student accommodation and they will only allow us to connect 1 PC to the internet and that is my Fiance's.

Thank you for your help

  1. Either you have bough protected musi and your PC is not online and autorised by itunes so the songs are there and wont play.

You must Authorise your PC for the protected music to play or transfer to your ipod.

or you have moved or deleted the music from the iutnes music folder (Itunes shows a '!' if this happens) if this is the case you'll have to find the music yourself and drag it onto the itunes music library icon in itunes.

Make sure you have selected 'let itunes manage my music' in preferences and NEVER ever touch the contents of the itunes Folder. regularly also select consolidate my library!

Itunes is the MASTER player and file/music store and the ipod is the player as a slave to it. thats why you can only sync paired ipods! you cna have more than 1 ipod per computer but only 1 itunes per ipod.
