Really fancy upscale restaurant for mothers day?

Question

i'm looking for an upscale elegant restaurant for mothers day... someplace where u'd have to dress up real nice?

anywhere in the bay area would be fine... preferable San Francisco though...

for something that's both upscale and unique, i'd recommend bushi-tei. their wine list is fantastic, and their tuna tartare is the best in the city.

another option might be maya, which always serves up reliably fresh-tasting dishes. their chefs really know their way around the steak. lamb is a safe bet as well.

i love the Melting Pot. You cook your own food in the fondue but its great for close conversation.

You have ridiculous choices in the Bay Area. Best way to figure out which is best in regards to availability is use OpenTable. Mother's Day is going to be hellish in finding a table.

The Campton Place Hotel, 240 Stockton.  Great Sunday brunch - fancy and pricey but a REAL treat.

The Carnelian Room on top of Bank of America Building. It is as elegant as a restaurant can get. Beautiful views. Must have a reservation. Parking under neath the building. Food is delicious! Very small amounts but its elegant, not sloppy joe.

The Waterfront Restaurant is really nice too on Embarcadero street. If dining outside, on most days, even during summer are cold. But, they have heaters outside last time i was there. The oven roasted chicken is to die for!
