how does temperature effect decomposes in leaf litter and why?

so like why would the decomposition rate change with temperature?

  1. cold temp. slows down the rate of decomposition thats why we keep things in freezers. Heat speeds up the decomposition phase.


  2. Heat is like a catalist i think thats the word

    If you notice heat speeds up the rate of reaction in many different areas of science, like chemcicals etc

    Its just helps speed up the rate of decomposition

  3. Decomposition is caused by bacterial activity. Bacteria don't like cold much and go to sleep a bit. Bacteria love being warm so as the temperature gets hot, they get more active, so the rate of decomposition will increase.
