Really important question about bikes?

I have a disability in my hands. I know there are bikes that already have peddle brakes but there are a couple of bikes that I like but they have hand breaks which I can't do, so I was wondering is it possible to transfer hand brakes to peddle brakes.

Thank you

  1. or you could get a fixed wheel bike (like a messenger bike) which you can stop by stop pedaling. it takes some time to get used to it but it is a lot of fun

  2. Yes, in a way. Go to your local bike shop and ask if you can have a coaster brake installed on your bike. It will mean buying a new rear wheel. I own a small bike shop in North Carolina

  3. There is a brake lever sold through The Hawley Company and J&B importers that has front and rear brake cables controled by one ambidextrous lever.  This is available through you local bike shop and they should be happy to help you.  I personally have fitted two of these for different people and they are perfect for you situation!
