  1. i'm going to be a junior, high school can be pretty awesome well the social part.  I'd say the best way to meet people would be to join a team a sports team and/or some clubs.  My friend last year was new but she tried out for cheer before school started and that's where she met me..and when she came to actual school she had us as friends.  And don't fret if you don't find a team before school, just join a club during the first week of school.  People will know you're new and they will be friendly if you're friendly.  Try to find out someones lunch period a person that you like and is nice so you can sit there until you meet new people.  Smile and be yourself, join things you like so you can meet people like you.  Don't be anything but yourself.Good luck

  2. Just relax don't worry about it.  Even though I went to public school my whole life, when I went to high school, I was the only one from my middle school going to that high school, so I didn't know anyone that went there.  After the first week, I made friends with people in my classes and then afterwards started meeting people that I would just glance at while walking to my next class.  My best friend and I met in ninth grade and we were never in a class together. We've both graduated and I still talk to her almost everyday.  My advice is just be yourself, and you can never go wrong. Because if you pretend to be someone your not, your schoolmates WILL find out, and trust me it won't look so pretty then.

  3. Hello!

I'm entering high school this year too, although probably not until early September.

Don't be nervous! Here are some tips to make your first day great.

    1. I've learned that if you have a friend, it can make everything easier. Is there anyone in your classes that is one of your friends? If so, that's good, because then you'll have someone to talk to and maybe even sit with at lunch if you guys have the same lunch period. If not, then that's okay. Take this as an opportunity to make a new friend.

    2. If you don't have assigned seating in your classes, sit next to someone who looks nice and over time, try to see if you two can be friends. If you have assigned seating, then this, in a way, becomes easier because people can't sit next to their friends and are forced to make new buddies.

    3. If you can, find out what your schedule is. When is lunch? When is gym? What time is math class? Knowing these simple things can make your day so much easier. Also, if possible, find out where your locker is. If you can't find these things out early, then don't worry, you'll probably be told them on the first day of school anyway.

    4. Come prepared! Always carry at least 1 freshly sharpened pencil with you--I like to carry a spare just in case I lose one or it breaks. If you're not sure what to bring to your class, consult the teacher or just bring a pencil and a notebook for the first day.

    5. Don't try to be "cool". Hang out with people YOU like as friends, not necessarily who everyone else likes.

    6. On the first day of school, don't try many unfamiliar things. What I mean by this, is, don't wear uncomfortable shoes you've never worn before, don't eat a breakfast you've never eaten before. Eat for breakfast something you know works for you, and has a lot of protein to keep you going, like an egg or an omelette. And wear comfy clothes and comfy shoes. This isn't to say you can't wear an outfit you've never worn before. Just make sure it's not uncomfortable--be sure the fabric's not itchy or scratchy, and the tags on the back don't bother you, etc., etc. You want your first day to be as comfortable as possible so you start out on the right foot.

    7. Join a club and get involved. This can make school so much easier to have something to look forward to every day, every week, or even every few weeks. Join something you're interested in, and, if possible, even join with a friend. If none of your friends are joining a particular club though and you want to join it, don't hesitate. This is an opportunity to make new friends, especially since everyone in that club will have something in common with you. It's a great way to have fun, make new friends, and feel like you're a part of your new school. If you can, find out what clubs are offered for freshman at your high school and pick one ahead of time. But if you can't, it's okay to join a club after the first day of school. And you can try out several clubs--worst case scenario you don't like the club, and you can just leave. ;-)

    8. Finally, I know you'll still probably have butterflies in your stomach even after reading this, but I hope this takes the edge off. Smile, take a deep breath, and have fun! :-)

    Good luck!

  4. Well I'm going to be a freshman and to tell the truth i am not gonna say its gonna be easy or hard to make friends.  Its going to be easy because once u meet one friend with a lot of your classes you will meet all there friends and will have buds, but it will be kinda hard to talk to people if ur shy. Don't be nervous in highschool is the best time of your life :]
