Really obnoxious problem with my digital camera! plz help!?

I recently purchased a fujifilm finepix digital camera, and i adore it! although there is one problem that has been bugging me...i cant zoom in on some pictures! it just wont let me, but on other pictures it will! any help here?

Many digital cameras disable the zoom if you're using the video capture mode.  The zoom mechanism makes noise that's captured by the internal microphone.

A second possibility is that you have selected a resolution that doesn't allow zooming.  You'll have to check your manual to see if that's the problem.

Finally, some cameras remember the zoom setting they were on last before you turned the camera off.  If that's the case, the camera may already be zoomed in.  You'll have to zoom it out first.

The FinePix zoom feature is disabled if you are shooting video and want to zoom in/out.  You have to select your zoom BEFORE you start to shoot the video and then stick with it until you finish.  In full auto mode and most of the other pre-programmed modes the zoom features should work with no problem since optical zoom (the only one you should use...disable the digital zoom feature) is mechanical to the camera itself.  If it's not working consistently in auto mode, you have a problem with your camera.  Fuji has a pretty good warranty but it takes them forever to get your camera back to you.

you may have dropped it or it may be made wrong....... That's why i recently bought a new one................
