Really stressed out & affecting my period?

This past month I have been super stressed out. I almost broke up with my boyfriend three times and cried a lot and wasn't sure what to do- I was told my my best friends mean mom that I gained a ton of weight (only 10 pounds due to stress with my BF) which did not help. I also bumped into my Boyfriends friend from work (who is married and having wife issues) and had a quick coffee with him and I guess one of his wife's friends saw us together and assumed he was cheating with me since I guess his wife suspected him of being unfaithful, if he is I'm not the girl but now she thinks I'm having s*x with him and that I ruined their marriage......which is all false. My boyfriend believes me luckily............I usually have PMS symptoms a week before my period and I did get PMS signs (sore b*****s, sneezing, emotional, cravings, gas and all that gross stuff) My period usually is a bit different each month. Example: I got my period last month on the 20th & this month I should have gotten it Sunday, Today.....or on the 20th like last month..........

Could all this stress cause my mixed up period? again I'm not sure I'm late, but I might be.

Also my Boyfriend got a Vasectomy a few months ago and passed all his tests so I don't think thats the reason....Pregnancy is not an option for me because of a Childhood accident (I don't want to get into details because I don't remember the accident but it damaged my uterus so

doctors told my mom that if I got pregnant I would have to get an abortion, or there would be life threatening results and my mom told me this a few years back)

Also I have not been having any kind of pregnancy symptoms or anything..............How does stress affect your cycle?

I'm sorry this is long but I'm just worried....and don't tell me to take a pregnancy test because its to early to the test

Thank you for reading that long question :)

  1. Blood colts.

  2. Ok girl the thing is that your stressed. When you know your about to get your perioud and start to PMS your suppose to take it easy on yourself. A womans body is very delicate and requires for the body to relax when about to start the period. You might wanna try exercising, jogging, or just doing the things that make you happy. Yoga is very good because it relaxes. And about all the drama you keep on livin your life and let things fall into place because you cant change wat other people think ever.

  3. Yes, stress can make you skip periods.  When I started college, I didn't have my period for over a year.  I went to the doctor and he said everything was fine and there was nothing for me to do.  Just try to release some stress in your life.

  4. Yeah, being super stressed can make it act up. Mine went a bit weird on me for a while after a hard loss of someone. It also picked up a habit of taking a break mid-week and has done that ever since for the past few years.

  5. Stress definitely affects your cycle! When you stress about anything, your brain sends singles to your body to have certain symptoms. Sometimes your body can release hormones that delay your cycle.

Due to your past medical history I would suggest going to the gyno just in case for some reason you don't get it. Other than that, exercising regularly and confronting some of these nasty people in your life might help.

  6. You aren't really late at this point.  It sounds like you are ready to start anytime and with all the stress it is making your PMS twice as bad and making you very emotional.  Try to take time in your day and meditate for 5 to 10 minutes.  I know this sounds silly but clearing your mind and thinking about nothing is like cleansing the brain that is so filthy from the c**p you have to deal with in life.

Light some lavender scented candles and turn the lights down low and put on very soothing music and close your eyes.  Afterwards take those candles and put them in the bath room and get some lavender bath soap and take a hot bath.  Lavender is very soothing and the scent will help.
