I really want to make my hair healthy and grow it out. I have about 4 inches of dead/broken/split ends. If I were to cut all the dead off would it help my hair grow? Ill sill be ironing my hair so will it just get ruined again anyways? should I bother cutting off the dead ends?

Thank you!

  1. I would definitely cut those dead ends off.  The same thing happened to me, and my hair was sooooo much better after I did. And your hair will grow back, and possibly healthier. Try using pantene's shampoo called beautiful lengths. it helps ALOT!

    good luck!

  2. yes you should cut the dead ends off.. It will make it look alot better and make it grow faster.. also try to find a thermal product to coat the hair and keep it healthy even while using the flat iron.

  3. Yes, it is best to cut all the dead ends. Try moisturizer and conditioning before ironing it. Aren't there some alternatives to ironing it, such as a straightener gel?

  4. Yes, you should trim off all the split ends. All of your hair is dead, so you can't cut off the "dead parts". No amount of cutting will help your hair grow, however, it will help by keeping it from splitting anymore which can make your hair break off. Yes, if you keep ironing it, the hair will be ruined, especially if you do it everyday without heat protection.

Instead, try using a roller brush to to pull the hair taut while damp and using a blowdryer on the "cool" setting to straighten your hair.

Also, don't cut off anything that isn't split! Dry hair can be fixed, but split ones cannot, no matter what product you get. Try using hair oil instead of conditioner, it's a lot better because it doesn't leave any gummy residue while keeping your hair soft and shiny. I use Dabur Jasmine hair oil, which is only $3 at the Indian grocery store. Just apply to hair for an hour and wash out with shampoo!

  5. Ok i suggest that as much as you might hate it to go ahead and get it cut try not to straigten it for it will ruint it more but when u get ur hair back to a good length to just get it done permanintly it will save u time and healthy hair u should really look into it i had the same problem i swore my hair felt like straw i was so sad but i finally got it healthy and then straigten permanintly and it was sooo worth it

  6. Yes, because if you leave the dead ends there, they're only going to continue splitting your hair...then it'll just be worse! If you cut it off, think of it as a fresh start! You should invest in some sort of protective spray or something close to it so that you can protect your hair further...good luck!

  7. yes it will help ur hair grow because if u continue to ket it grow out itll just keep splitting at the ends and breaking off. Also ironing it doesnt help it at all because it fries all the protein in ur hair. to keep mine straight i brish it in the shower and immediately after i get out.

  8. Cut off the dead ends because if you don't the dead ends well come up little more every time and by the time you want to do something a lot of your hair will be broken and dead ends. And when you iron it make sure your hair is dry and not wet.

  9. Use shampoo WITHOUT propylene glycol & propol-paraben.

Two very nasty filler ingredients, that I happen to be allergic to.
