earlier today i used my older sister's shaving razor because i couldn't find mine. later on in the day, she told me that she might have hepatitis, so i started freaking out. i was just wondering, can hepatitis be shared by using an infected person's razor? please answer.

  1. Hepatitis can live for 8 days outside the body, but the only way that there would be any on the razor would be if she had cut herself while shaving.  If that were the case, you would have had to cut yourself while shaving with her razor.  Otherwise you should be safe.


  2. Did you cut yourself with it?

    Thats the only way it could have happened. Or if you have an open sore on the body part you shaved.

    Other than that you should be fine:)

  3. Hepatitis is spread through bacteria, so it is possible. Did you rinse the razor first? How long after she used it did you use it? it is possible you rinsed off the offending bacteria or it died on its own before you got to it. If you don't have your 3 hepatitis vaccinations (I'm assuming you don't) you most definitely should, especially if you are living with someone who has hepatitis.
