Hey, I woke up this morning, and when I was hopping int he shower, I noticed in the mirror, I have a really white spot on my back, about the size of a dime with a red dot in the middle. Any idea what this is? We have hobos in my house + other spiders, that i've seen. Wondering if maybe its a bite? I dont know. It doesnt seem sore or anything either. Thanks in advance.

  1. Arachnid bites tend to have a liquid filled pustule at the center of the bite, but there are exceptions. From my experience with train punks/hobos (and I do have some), they tend to be somewhat dirty, and fungal infections are not unheard of. I would bet that its tinea corpus, caused by an atypical fungus that typically lives in southern more tropical climates, but hobos go south and come back with all sorts of goodies for you, so even if you live in maine, it could get you.

I would treat it with OTC lotramin AF (or generic equivalent), or, if you prefer herbs, neem oil rubs or neem tea compresses.

The other possibility, now that I realize that its only dime-sized is that its an insect bite that has caused some localized edema. If this gets bigger and ringed, its lyme disease. Other than that, don't worry about it.
