Really worried about eye inflammation. Need Answer!?

For a long time now, I've had redness in my eyes. I have gone to many optomotrists but im sorry to say, they have all failed. Ive taken many eye drops including allergy eye drops. I have taken 'lid care' which is like a piece of cotton that contains chemicals that clean out your eye lids (could be used to remove make up).

Just last Month I went to an optomotrist and he told me that i had eye inflammation. Which ment, I have an infection growing on another tissue on my eyes. This could lead to many things. Its not really that bad but its getting more and more red every day. Ive had it for 3 years and now it has covered the whole right side of my eye. Any info is great, Thanks

  1. This isn't something I would want to fool around with so try to find a specialist in your area who can help you with this.

Google and type in "eye inflammation" and look through the list of things they have listed and see if anything matches what you have.  I'm surprised that the opthamologist didn't do more to take care of you ~ shame on him/her.  Here is one link that might help you:

Infections can cause a lot of damage so definitely keep looking until you find someone who will treat this and do something to get rid of the problem.

Many people don't realize that infections can kill so even though I doubt that would be the case here, you could end up with permanent sight damage or possibly go blind in time.

Educate yourself through Google, then go prepared next time you see a doctor.  Don't let them push you away like this is no big deal, especially since it is getting worse.

I'm also wondering if you could have conjunctivitis (pink eye)?  My husband had that one time (he's an x-ray tech at a hospital) and his eye got really red but once the doctor gave him drops and he used it for about a week, it went away.  Pink eye is very contagious so be sure and wash your hands anytime you touch your eye and properly dispose of any tissues or items that touch your eyes.

    Good luck

  2. i know that if your eyelids are inflamed then you may have blepharitus..where abouts on your eye is it?

  3. well thats how my eye prob started till they figured out it was corneal dystrophy, so keep seeing docs till they find something.

  4. If it's inflammatory, then many of the drops, including (and especially) allergy won't help.  You may consider seeing what is known as an anterior segment specialist who is an ophthalmologist dealing in problems just such as these.  Ask your doctor for a referral if you feel you aren't getting any better.

  5. It might be conjunctivitis. See your doctor instead.
