Reanne Evans; The great female cueist

As a matter of fact, snooker fans turn a blind eye to female players of the great sports. There can be many reasons for such negligence, but Reanne Evans is entirely a different story. Evans is very much into the spot light, she has proved herself as a class
cueist over the years.
Born on 25th october 1985 in the large town of Dudley, West Midlands, United Kingdom. The 26 year old Evans has won the World championship as many as six times. Currently a world champion, Evans is dominating in ladies snooker world wide.
Inspired to play snooker by her two brothers, Evans started to play with 'the colourful balls on the green table' at the age of eleven. She started to play on the huge snooker table, when she couldn’t possibly reach for the striker.
Evans admitted that her brothers Ryan and Richard were her ideals, and she just wanted to play like them. She said that every thing started to fall perfectly in place for her, as she was able to score first century of her life, after having to play snooker
for a year.
“My brother bought a new cue for himself, and I really wanted to take his old one. My brother would let me have his cue on one condition, if I scored a century. A month later I made a score of 107 against him, he was amazed and gave his cue to me. I still
use that cue” told Evans.
Evans started to take part in local matches, when she was spotted and approached by a snooker coach, Neil Selman. It was Neil, who encouraged Evans to compete and take part in the world circuits. Evans was just 15-years-old at the time.
It was the first tournament of Evans’s life, and she made commendable progress by reaching the semi finals of the championship, which was held at the Crucible. It could be any amateur/non-professional player’s dream to perform at the crucible.
With regard to the first tournament of her life she said, “I defeated Lynette Horsburgh who was one of the best players around, to get to the semi finals. With regular breaks of score over 60, every one was curious that who was this young girl, which made
me happy”.
Since the break-through at the crucible, Evans has been unstoppable in the professional ladies snooker scene. Winning the world championship when she was seven and a half months pregnant , can be termed as her biggest achievements. “ I had no expectations
from the championship as I was pregnant and couldn’t play properly”, said Evans.
Evans and the men’s world number eleven Mark Allen were in a relationship, she is the mother of Allen’s daughter.  They used to practice together as well, Evans considers Mark as the finest cueist of today’s snooker and admits that she got to learn a great
deal of snooker from him.
Evans has won a mixed double championship, playing along side Mark Allen. And to a great degree of surprise, Evans has also defeated John Higgins. It was the world six-reds championship held in Ireland, where Evans won 4-3 against Higgins.
Reanne Evans holds as many as 26 ranking titles in her professional snooker career, some of them are:

2010 WLBSA world ladies champion 2009 WLBSA world ladies champion 2008 WLBSA world ladies champion 2009 WLBSA world mixed doubles champion playing along side Micheal Holt 2009 European ladies team champion 2008 IBSF world ladies champion 2008 WLBSA ladies UK champion 2008 East anglian ladies champion 2008 Wytech world ladies masters champion 2008 WLBSA world mixed doubles champion playing along side Neil Robertson 2008 European ladies team Champion 2008 European ladies champion 2007 IBSF world ladies champion 2007 WLBSA world adies champion 2007 EBSA european champion 2007 Ladies UK champion 2007 Wytech world ladies masters champion 2006 WLBSA world ladies champion 2006 ladies UK champion 2006 Ladies British open champion 2006 East anglian ladies champion 2005 WLBSA world ladies champion 2005 IBSF world ladies champion 2005 Ladies UK champion
