Rear end making grinding noise?

i have a 1998 ford mustang cobra and my car is making a loud grinding noise coming from the back sounds like my rear end but not sure if u might know what it is hit me up please because

i dont fill like trading in my car or selling thanks

  1. Does the noise change when turning, braking or with speed?

    Start with checking the brakes. While checking the brakes insure your outer half shaft bearings are good. If that all checks out then your up to turning the wheels and listening. If you hear something then pull the diff cover off and inspect.

  2. sonds like a pinion bearing thats from speed shifting and burnouts,if you have cobra don't even say your not guilty!!but you can fix that

  3. take it to a mechanic and let them listen to it, if you have been doing a lot of burn-outs you probably need the rearend rebuilt.
