  1. I wouldn't bolt them onto the parcel shelf, that is not solid enough. They need to be bolted either on to the body of the car above the seat, or behind the seat.

If I were you, I'd ask at a garage.

  2. either floor behind seat or on seat itself

  3. All you need to do is buy an aftermarket set of seat-belts and either install them yourself or have your local repair shop install them for you......

  4. From a legal point of view, you don't need seatbelts for a car that old.

I've had a look in my mini Haynes manual and there is nothing in there whatsoever - now been out to car and there are top anchoring points on the C posts - the part between the rear windows and the rear screen - you should, I believe you will find 2 suitable points there for the belts to be fixed too.

I don't suggest Halfords - found past experience of there of minis being stuff for the new shape and not the classic shape.

It might be worth having a look on the mini car forums for help/advice too, such as The Mini Forum or a-serious.

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  6. How mint you have a 1981 mini.

Does it have the little blue badge on the front.

    I love original minis.

I am sorry but I don't know how to fit rear seat belts to these cars. Try halfords they do stuff like that.
